All the Right Things Book
First-time author Nena Khir found me through a fellow kids’ book author, Keith Ruffner, during a Facebook group discussion. When I joined the project, the book's illustrations were almost finished, so I immediately began working on the layout and design.
Nena expressed interest in establishing her personal brand, KhirKids, by creating a website and selling merchandise in addition to publishing her book. To boost the brand's profile, we worked on these materials hand-in-hand as we prepared for the book's release.
All the Right Things is an adorable book that teaches children how to use positive affirmations in their daily lives. You can purchase the book here.
Making Friends with Feelings Book
In 2023, I had the honor of assisting Keith Ruffner, a first-time author, with printing his first children's book. Keith experienced difficulties with a self-publishing company, so he decided to cancel his contract and enlist my help to complete the project.
Once we received the illustrations from the talented Kate Gleyzer, we had to incorporate them into the layout. Although we only needed to make minor changes for text visibility, the art did most of the work. Soon, we had a first draft ready for review.
After a few revisions, we finalized the book. The only thing left was to find a printer and complete the necessary prepress work for the wrap-around covers.
I recommended an overseas printer that I had previously used, which significantly reduced Keith's costs compared to what he was expecting to pay through the self-publishing company.
It was an honor to be a part of this project, which promotes a healthy approach to managing emotions in children. You can purchase a copy for yourself by clicking here.
